Cost-Effective Custom Software Development

Custom Software Development: Prince Global manages software projects locally and outsources development to offshore teams of programmers, including application development for smartphones. We have developed several large-scale software systems through this effective combination, including the following:

WaltKnowsGold (.NET). In addition to a public website designed to facilitate a customer's mailing in of his or her gold-containing jewelry, we specified and had coded an analysis and database program that automatically recorded the weight of each incoming package and of each piece in the package on a USB-attached scale, automatically photographed each weighing with a hi-res webcam and stored the photo, automatically recorded the results of an x-ray diffusion analysis, automatically calculated the gold, silver and platinum content of each piece and of the total package, automatically calculated the amount to be paid to the customer, and automatically cut a check for that amount, together with necessary management reporting. The client's requirement was to handle 10,000 packages a month with security and minimal clerical intervention, and to provide a searchable archive.

Unitville.com (ASP and .NET). We created a web-based community for independent sales managers of Mary Kay to foster career development. The site included a content management system used by non-technical Mary Kay sales directors to upload images and pdf documents and to convert the documents to Word for editing; an extensive user-maintained library for sharing of content; a language translator; a newsletter editor with the ability to automatically download data from a proprietary Mary Kay corporate site, format and include it in an MS Publisher-created newsletter, and upload it through the content management system to the director's self-maintained web pages.

DealerPro Foreign Exchange trading support and risk management system -- binary options enhancements (C++). This set of enhancements -- specified, coded and tested for a major German bank -- added eight complex path-dependent exotic option models to a large-scale financial software application used by the foreign exchange departments of major banks. It was originally written as a cross-platform application for RS-6000, Solaris and Windows. The application is maintained by Prince Global for its client's clients.

Portfolio Simulator (.NET). This is an asset allocation program that analyzes thousands of historical financial prices and suggests the optimal mix of assets to achieve the highest return. Originally coded in 1990 as a DOS program, we were tasked with bringing the program into the 21st century and making it commercially saleable.

Riskmaster for Coffee market simulation and training application (.NET). This software was developed for the New York Board of Trade to teach coffee producers and roasters in the US and Latin America how to use futures and options to improve their returns. The software was translated into Spanish and sold commercially through trade distributors. It was loosely based on the very first pc market simulation, the highly successful Comex the Game, which our predecessor company developed in 1985.

Consulting and Problem Solving: As technology consultants as well as developers, we are available to review process flow and procedures, participate in gathering user requirements, write functional specs, and propose solutions to improve efficiency and foster collaboration among customers, employees and partners. Changes in technology provide continuing improvements in productivity and lower costs; and make for rapid obsolescence and security vulnerabilities. We can advise you on a range of IT issues.

About our CTO:
Broad Experience and a Unique Background

Jerald White has 30 years experience in information technology management, technology project management, software development, web design, and systems consulting. He enjoys a reputation as a multi-faceted problem solver, a forward-looking manager with extensive experience not only in technology, but also in marketing, operations, risk management, business process and strategy development.

At bullion dealer Mocatta in New York in the 1970's, White held positions of trading manager, chief operating officer, and director of corporate planning; director and namesource of well-respected commodity broker Brody, White and Company; and president of Iron Mountain Depository. He was assigned the project of developing a realtime transaction-handling system for Mocatta's backoffice, with the requirement of a 1-second response time on users' terminals. Programmed in-house on an IBM mainframe and completed in 1981, it may have been the first realtime backoffice system on Wall Street, where overnight processing was the rule.

In 1980 White began a consulting career with his own downtown New York-based firm, later founded a software development/marketing firm with offices in New York, London and Tokyo, created the first financial game for the IBM pc ("Comex, the Game"), and in 1996 founded Prince Global as a vehicle for software development for clients. For the past few years he handled diverse responsibilities for a 50-employee family office, including overseeing its IT department as CTO, and developing custom software. In 5 months in 2009 he created a high-volume cash-for-gold firm with national tv advertising, website, custom software and automated processing (described above).
